A side mounted magnetic level switch is similar to a top mounted magnetic level switch in terms of its basic operation and function. It is a type of liquid level sensor that is used to monitor the level of a liquid in a tank or container. The main difference between a side mounted and a top mounted magnetic level switch is the location of the switch itself.
A side mounted magnetic level switch is installed on the side of the tank, rather than on top. The float inside the tank is still connected to the switch through a cable or rod, and it still rises and falls with the liquid level. When the liquid reaches a certain level, the float actuates a reed switch inside the switch, which sends a signal indicating the level of the liquid.
Side mounted magnetic level switches are commonly used in applications where a top mounted switch is not feasible or where access to the top of the tank is limited. They can also be used in applications where the level of the liquid needs to be monitored from multiple locations around the tank.
